Which ticket should you buy?

  • One day, on a budget: the day ticket ($92), or the reduced ticket ($68) if you qualify.
  • One day, and you want the quiet first hour: First Access ($105). For $13 more than a day ticket you are in at 11 am, before the day-ticket time slots start at 12 pm.
  • The weekend, coming and going: the Weekend ticket ($170). Re-entry lets you break for lunch or a satellite fair and come back.
  • Art Basel and Design Miami: the combination ticket ($132).
  • The Vernissage, or several days with lounges: a premium pass, from $1,250.
  • With children: add a free children's ticket for each child aged 12 or under.

Entry times and re-entry

The public days run from 11 am to 6 pm (Art Basel). The day, Weekend, Reduced and children's tickets have entry from 12 pm, by the time slot you choose. The First Access ticket and the premium passes get you in at 11 am. Only the Weekend ticket and the premium passes allow re-entry; on every other ticket, exit is final, so plan lunch inside or outside, not both.

VIP days and invitations

The private days, Wednesday, December 2 (from 11 am for First Choice cardholders, 4 pm for Preview) and Thursday, December 3, are by invitation (Art Basel). Invitations come through galleries that show at the fair and through collector programmes, not through resellers. From 4 pm on Thursday, the Vernissage is also open to premium pass holders. If anyone offers you "VIP access" outside the official shop, ask exactly what it is. Our guide to VIP preview or public day compares the options.

Tickets for the rest of Miami Art Week

An Art Basel ticket covers Art Basel Miami Beach only, except the combination ticket, which adds Design Miami. The week's other fairs, 21 in all on the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau's list (CVB), each run their own entry. Our guide to Miami's art fairs has their dates and tickets, and Miami museums during Art Basel has the free days.

Tours and groups

Art Basel's guided tours are run with ArtNexus, booked on the ArtNexus site, and do not include admission (Art Basel). Groups are capped at 12 people on the public days and 6 on the VIP days, and self-guided groups must register before the show. Some galleries do not accept group visits; Art Basel publishes the list.

Buying safely

  3. Bring proof for a reduced ticket.
