Modern and contemporary Latin American art at a small, curated fair on Dinner Key in Coconut Grove, marking Pinta's 20th anniversary.
Pinta is the week's fair for Latin American art, and the one to make the trip for if that is what you collect: small, curated and about 12 miles south of the convention center, it is an outing of its own. Pinta began in New York in 2007 as a boutique fair of modern and contemporary Latin American art, ran editions in London from 2010 to 2014, and moved its main fair to Miami in 2014. Its director, Diego Costa Peuser, heads Pinta Group, which also runs fairs in Lima and Buenos Aires. This December the fair marks its 20th anniversary at The Hangar, on Dinner Key in Coconut Grove, where it has set up since 2022.
Pinta calls itself a boutique, curated fair, and it is small: last year's edition listed 38 galleries on the fair's site. Global curator Irene Gelfman selects the Main Section of international galleries. RADAR, curated by Isabella Lenzi of the Alberto Cruz Foundation, is given to curatorial proposals, and NEXT, curated by Marina Reyes Franco of Independent Curators International, is for emerging galleries. The architect Daniel Fischer designs the layout, and FORO hosts talks on modern and contemporary photography.
Two things were still unsettled when we checked on October 24: the 2026 gallery list, which the fair's site had not yet posted, and the opening day, which its own pages give as both Wednesday, December 2 and Thursday, December 3. Check before you go.
Give it about two hours. Three guides lead curated tours of the fair, and EFG, the fair's main sponsor for the twelfth year running, presents the EFG Latin America Art Award for emerging artists with Art Nexus. Make an afternoon of it in Coconut Grove.
